  <dc:description xmlns:ns0="xml" ns0:lang="it"> L'Archivio provinciale di Lucerna conserva l'inventario del 1841, compilato 
da Cherubino da Ligornetto, guardiano del Convento, con l’intervento del signor 
Giacomo Beretta e del signor Pasquale Lurati, in ossequio alla legge del 19 giugno 1803 
e alle successive risoluzioni. Il documento contiene al suo interno informazioni 
riguardanti le caselle dei libri proibiti della Biblioteca dei Cappuccini di Lugano, oggi 
Biblioteca Salita dei Frati. A differenza delle edizioni espurgate, mostrate durante una 
visita guidata alla Biblioteca tenutasi il 29 settembre 2022, queste non riportano 
cancellazioni del testo, ma presentano alcune annotazioni manoscritte, come ad 
esempio la nota “proibito” apposta sulle carte di guardia anteriori. Ciò dimostra quanto 
varie possano essere le forme della censura libraria nel corso dei secoli. </dc:description>
  <dc:description xmlns:ns1="xml" ns1:lang="en">The provincial archives of the Swiss Capuchins in Lucerne preserve the 1841 
inventory, originally compiled by Cherubino da Ligornetto, guardian of the Capuchin 
convent in Lugano, with interventions by Mr. Giacomo Beretta and Mr. Pasquale Lurati, 
in compliance with the Law of the 19th of June 1803 and its subsequent resolutions. The 
document includes information concerning the shelves of banned books in the Library 
of the Capuchin Convent, Lugano, known today as the Biblioteca Salita dei Frati. Unlike 
the expurgated editions, which were shown during the guided tour of the Library on 
the 29th of September 2022, these do not show deletions of text, but rather display some 
handwritten annotations, such as the note "forbidden" placed on the front flyleaves. 
This shows that, over the centuries, book censorship could take many a form.
